RFQ and PO: Going Beyond the Bid

After talking with clients and walking through their day-to-day workflow, we identified a gap worth closing and built our first major feature: Send RFQs and POs, right from inside BlueRead.

Emails flowing in and out of the BlueRead logo

Bids built on real, current pricing

A bid is only as good as the numbers behind it, and too often those numbers come from an outdated catalog or a quote that’s months stale rather than the price a supplier or distributor would actually give today. BlueRead now lets you request the latest pricing directly from the suppliers and distributors you already work with, so the bid you send out reflects current market pricing based on your real relationship with them — not a guess pulled from the last catalog update. That keeps the price you bid closer to the price you’ll actually pay when the order goes through.

BlueRead sends the emails, you stay in control

BlueRead can send RFQ emails to your suppliers and distributors on your behalf, then wait for their responses to come back. When a reply lands, a simple upload is all it takes to pull the new pricing into your catalog and update the open bid — no manual re-keying line by line, no digging through your inbox for the quote you need.

No surprises when the PO goes out

Because the bid was already built from current pricing, generating the purchase order after you win the job is a small step rather than a scramble to re-check every line item. The numbers on the PO match the numbers in the bid, because they came from the same place.

This is the first of several features we’re building around this workflow, and we’re glad to have you along for it. BlueRead is committed to making this process easier for everyone involved.
